Interview Pierdole Style : Riddick666

- FTM : Hey Ridick, first, thank you for accepting to be interviewed, and also congratulation for this results in d3, 4 played, 4 win, did expect such scores ?

Riddick666 : Hi, no problem, it's a pleasure for me. As far as I know div 3 teams aren't so strong, so yeah, even if we hadn't played for a long time I hoped we would beat them with some old-times-skills :) I still think it's a good warm up for us, before 2 div, so I was pretty happy when admins set us in 3 div.

- FTM : By watching d3's table we can see that you will be obviously in d2 next season, how do feel it ?

Riddick666 : Like I said before, we expected it. At the moment I'm feeling quite good, we still have 1 match in this div, and then I'm expecting more challenging opponents in higher div. We played some of 2nd div teams in PCW and there were so pretty AWESOME close games.

- FTM : Yet, both Cyborg and Team Postpwned managed to steal you 1 map, would you say that the second team which will climb up is one of them ? Can you talk about these 2 teams ?

Riddick666 : That's a tough question. I can only speculate, because we didnt play against TAW NA so I dont know how they will perform, maybe they will climb up. It's hard to say anything about Cyborgs game, because I wasn't playing it. However I heard about some childish mistakes. And on last obj Eng made a wrong decision, he was shooting instead of disarming, thats why there was a tiebreaker map. Then we played versus postpwned, which I actually played. We won easily 1st map, on EU server, and then again we have lost 2nd map on NA server. And again, we made many mistakes, like 1 guy was re-taking enemy spawn, instead of go to obj and helping defend it. I think we were able to play it much better on GDF site, and on attack (it was volcano) we found hard to break through nice set defense. Unfortunately I got many TKs on myself and teacher with fail nades as well, summarizing it was just a bad played game. But we don't cry over spilt milk since we have won 3rd map.

- FTM :As you said it, you hadn't played QW for years before you came back few weeks ago, can you tell us if the playing style changed much or you didn't notice much differencies ?

Riddick666 : Yeah, we didn't play it for like 1,5 - 2 years i think. I haven't noticed any spectacular changes. Some of the players improved their aiming, but I think it's a normal situation.

- FTM : Ok, so last question : Who are the 3 best players in your opinion ?

Riddick666 : I will be nothing new if i would say : Kordin, 2nd one hmm... shenise, 3rd place goes to Teacher & Voitech, my mates (they are even, so i cant choose one :p )

Interview 40% #2 : Celebrian

- FTM : Hi celebrian ! First, congratulation for your start in this season, with 2 victories against The Gun Club and Stupidoz, can you tell us your feelings about these 2 first matches ?

Celebrian : These teams are pretty good, but GunClub is a new team and they have not played well with each other yet, and Stupidoz have few players who aren't often online that does not allow them to train a lot, so we supposed that we would win these matches. The real challenge for us will be the next two matches with the Vikings and deadwhale.

- FTM : Your very last match (against Stupidoz) was pretty close, would you say that this team improved or rather that you were in a bad shape and you will be ready to face viking and deadwhale (the 2 favorites of this season 2 at the moment) ?

Celebrian : In fact, in this day, we were not in the best shape, plus we had to play on server #2 which much worse than a server #1 so these laggs were a living hell for us. Also the words of Brontoz on the forum made sense. I hope on the next matches we arrive and show a good game ;]

- FTM : 40% #2 showed on your former matches a pretty solid teamplay, and I would even say that you know how not to take risks when you aren't supposed to, but could you tell us, in your opinion, what is the strongest point of 40% ?

Celebrian : Our good teamplay result that if someone makes a mistake, or goes to unnecessary risk, then Brontoz screaming at him like crazy. This causes people to follow the discipline :D If this does not happen - that the team is going to chaos. Most of anger goes to Disney xD

- FTM : In your upcoming matches, which one will be the hardest one to you ?

Celebrian : It's too complicated question. Both teams are among the best at the moment. So I think both of these games will be equally difficult for us.

- FTM : It foreshadows some very interesting matches in anyway ! Last question your top 3 players ?

Celebrian : Kordin, brontoz, samurai

Interview Jem Paczki : bart139

- FTM : Hey bart, first, congratulation for your victory against ToXiC sunday, can you tell us your feeling about this match ?

bart139 : Hey rubben and thanks you :). We won this match, but it wasn't easy. We extended salvage, at our request, because we wanted to try some new tactic, because this tactic still isn’t ready yet, and it was the best opportunity to train it. We won and I am satisfied with the game as all players played a nice match. :)

- FTM : As ToXiC was one of the team that most of people expected to see going up to d3, is JP ready enough to climp up there in your opinion ?

bart139 : I dont know. JP is a good team, but we dont regularly play. Only me and yakos are trying keep shape , and play often. But i think JP can play in 3rd division on an equal footing with the other teams there. And we will show it!

- FTM : We already knew that you had some good players in JP (as Yakos, komora and even you), but we noticed that Fen0men also signed up in your team-roster, is he actually going to play with JP or he is just here to back you up ?

bart139 : Yes it's true I wanted to create a team which will be balanced (every player in same level), Fen0men is last player, which was added to team. We played 2 seasons with the same team, and it's hard to change. Remember, Fen0men doesn’t often play so he needs some time to improve and get back to his old skill.

- FTM : Which of your upcoming matches makes you anxious at the moment ?

bart139 : It's an hard question. First results of di4 really surprised me, and at the moment I have no idea of who is the best. Before this season I thought Villa and LoOL:) would be the hardest team in d4. But first matches showed that league will be quite balanced. We will play today offi match vs NML and I think this match will be hardest match in this season.

- FTM : Ok, last question, in your opinion what is the top 3 players ?

bart139 : Kordin, Onyx, lausl

Interview Combat Folk : fin1

- FTM : Hello fin1, the first question will be about your come-back on QW with your team Combat Folk after a long pause, do you think you will be at your top for your first match (vs TAW, 12 march) ?

fin1 : Hi, we've tried to come back to QW before, for some other turneys like TLR 5vs5 cup, asdf 6vs6 cup (most of oldfrags from CF), but we hope this come back be a longer than previous. I hope we win TAW on class, but i dont think it will be easy bash, they have some good capitan onYn, and as I understand, he wants to make some good team.

- FTM : - We noticed that you scheduled your match vs 1st CAV very late (12 April), is it because you consider them as your hardest opponent in d2 and you want to be in a good shape to face them ?

fin1 : Yes, i remember how good they are, so i hope we after mounth of pracs we gather good shape and remember how to play as team. I think 1st cav and 40% favorites of our group, 40% is pretty good new wave players, and 1st cav have in their line up, good old players who plays for Poland NT in last clanbase national cup.But i think it will be a interesting match against us.

- FTM : So, does it mean that you count more on individual skills at the moment than on teamplay ? (we noticed some very good aimer as Draelor)

fin1 : Yeah, Draelor and Protey, also i wait when SnaKe start to pwning like in good old times, a then i can focus on objing and collecting xp:)

- FTM : Ok, last question, your top 3 euro players ? :)

fin1 : Kordin, Samurai, Rex

Season 2 starts !

After a good season 1, it's already time to embark for season 2! Registration are now close and I'm really happy to announce that 36 teams have signed-up for this second season. Welcome back to all the old QW players who came back and thanks you all for your motivation.
For season 2, we've made some changes in the ruleset :
-1.1 Division System edited
-1.3 Extra Points deleted
-1.5 Sanctions edited
-1.5 Demos added
The other rules will remain the same as what they were in season 1.

The new tables are ready, don't forget to check your division. Your matches will be scheduled by your division's admin, contact him in any case of problem with the dates or to move a match.
Season 2 will begin monday 5th of march and will end sunday 15 of april.

The first FTMLeagues season is now over, and has been interesting until the last match yesterday where we saw Failwhale beating 40% #2 by 4 - 0 ! failwhale takes the gold and wins... a box of cookies for each player ! (this is very serious)

Interview Team-Aero : Crytiqal

- FTM : Hi Crytiqal, thank you for accepting this interview. You just lost against 40%, as Kordin predicted in the last interview, but you won the only map that nobody expected you to win (refinery, where 40% hasn't been defeated in the last competitions). Can you explain it ?

Crytiqal : We didn't expect to take refinery either. We know Refinery is one of 40% strongest maps and they know we suck at refinery and so they use that against us :D. However we mixed our attack up a bit, and it paid off pretty well. Our defense time was round about 8 minutes i think, which was not bad for us. Normally 40% walks right through, but this time our defense was set up pretty well. We knew with our set time that we might had a chance on attack aswell, because normally we have too little time when they attack so fast. Luckily we changed our attack plans during warmup and got the forward spawn pretty fast, which was always a huge struggle for Aero. We knew that once we could take the forward spawn in time, we could finish the rest aswell :) I must admit, we were worried about them picking refinery tho, 40% usually owns that map.

- FTM : Ok ok, the next map was Volcano, there's not so much to say about it since it was a very very close map, but do you think you relaxed too much after recording such a good time ?

Crytiqal : Good question We know volcano attack pretty well and therefor choose that map, but we also know we have a weak defense on it, mainly because we never really practise at all :D.* We played 40% on volcano before aswell and also lost in the nick of time (2-3 secs) This time we hoped we would be more lucky. I dunno why our defense inside the hack room didnt go as well as planned. But we played it with a different lineup before and it was pretty solid. This time however we got steamrolled just as bad as we steamrolled them i suppose. We never played the map with this lineup and i think that is was cracked our teamplay up. If we had had a bit of luck we could have ended the match then and there :D.

- FTM : Even generally, but even more in this match we noticed some individual skills that counted really much in this game, mostly with ShadowToLight who made a very good match, or even Hydrium. Are your tactics based on these individual skills or you count even more on teamplay ?

Crytiqal : Tactics? what tactics? :D Shadow is one if not the best player in my team and i would like to thank him for playing with a noob like me xD. Same goes for the rest of the guys! It is based on individual skill, and we know who can do what best and work to achieve the goal by taking each other strenghts and weaknesses in account. As for tactics, we just come up with, lets take the roof or lets take the right stairs :D. Yea... we should really train at least once a week i suppose... :D

- FTM : How do you feel your next match vs failWhale ? :)

Crytiqal : failwhale has some awesome teamplay. I hope we manage to beat them in the 4v4 from learning today against 40%. I am confident that if Aero practices on teamplay as much as 40%, failwhale and Stupidoz do, we could beat failwhale in the 4v4. I hope we can take our strong points from today (Refinery and Volcano attack), and keep improving on our weaker points, and we should do alright :).

- FTM : Alright, it foreshadows a great match in anyway. And last question, any prediction about who's going to climp up to div 1 next season ?

Crytiqal : Well first of all i'd like to say how i don't get that div 2 in 40% seems to have a stronger lineup than div 1, no offense to any of these guys since i respect them all :) As for climbing up in the devision for season 2.. I think ZUBR improved, they might climb to a higher devision and Stupidoz should be in there aswell. I dunno how much teams 1 devision can hold, but i think the strongest teams, in no particular order, in etqw at this time are 40% 2, Team-Aero,failwhale,Stupidoz and SVOBODA I haven't really seen a lot of other matches to be honest, so i cannot comment that much on other teams.* I hope next season even more teams will sign up and compete, even pub teams, since they can scrim each other and improve and get a feel for promod and hopefully keep the compscene alive a bit longer.

- FTM : Ok thank you very much Crytiqal, awesome match today and good luck for the next ones :)

Interview failWhale : Kordin

FTMLeague admins decided to make some interviews, from time to time, of some season 1 players.
Today, failWhale's current captain, Kordin, accepted to answer a few questions :

- FTM : Hey Kordin, thank you for accepting to be interviewed, you managed to beat SVOBODA quite easily tuesday, did you expect this ?

Kordin : Yes, I guess everyone expected that. We played a lot of trains against them since they are the only team that seems to be available every day for a 4on4 and beat them quite easily most of the time. So we were also pretty confident for this first match in the FTM League. They will have a hard time in our division. Svoboda isn't bad, the problem is just that they are too high for division 2 but not good enough for division 1.

- FTM : Next match will be 40% #2 vs Team-Aero, both of them are in the top teams, do you expect this match to be close or you have already an idea of the final result ?

Kordin : I think 40% are in a really good shape at the moment. On some maps, like Refinery, it seems sometimes impossible to break their defense if they have a good day. So the clear favorite for me is 40%. If they make the right map choice and play well, Aero could maybe steal them one map win but more than a 1:2 for Aero isn't likely in my opinion. But who knows, they have already surprised everyone in the 6on6 match against 40% :) (FTM : asdf 6v6 semi-finals)

- FTM : So, do you feel confident for your next match ? (against Team-Aero)

Kordin : Yes, that is a solvable task for us. We got a strong lineup, so I am pretty confident that we can beat them.

- FTM : Ok, last question, your top 3 euro players ? :)

Kordin : Brontoz from 40% is for sure one of the best players at the moment. When I am in a good shape, I would also count myself in. And my last pick is Samurai. Since he will return to play together with the Italian Team ( NoPracSince2009) in the FTM League, his old skill-level will recover pretty fast, which makes him too the strongest aimer that is left in QW in my opinion. But I think you could also mention a lot other players. There are many strong aimers in Quake Wars and sometimes it's just the Lag that decides a fight, as we all know :)

FTML's admins are proud to anounce that the season 1 will start on the 1st week of February 2012 ! The map Com_Link has also been added to the official maps list.
